Mumbai: A booklet published before the BMC polls in February, accusing senior BJP leaders of corruption, has resurfaced as an alleged publication by the Shiv Sena. While Sena functionaries have denied publishing the booklet, which does not name the publisher, party insiders said the allegations of corruption in the book will now be used against BJP leaders by the Sena.

On Wednesday, Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray held an organisational meeting with party leaders to review preparations for the Assembly elections. “He reviewed the situation and the party’s preparation. He has asked leaders to get aggressive and be ready for polls soon,” a senior party leader, who attended the meeting, said.

Meanwhile, Ghotalebaj BJP (scamster BJP) is being circulated in party circles. It has details of alleged corruption by BJP leaders, ranging from the MIDC land scam allegations against Eknath Khadse to the tur scam allegations against Girish Bapat. It also has a list of allegations against all BJP leaders and asks if they should be spared.

During the BMC polls, the BJP had ridiculed the booklet, calling it ‘mischief.’ On Wednesday, the buzz within the Sena was that party leaders have been asked to study the booklet and make similar allegations against BJP leaders in their speeches.

Harshal Pradhan, who looks after publicity for Mr. Thackeray, said no such booklet was distributed among party leaders at Wednesday’s meeting. “We will not go for such dirty tricks. We have neither published such a booklet nor has Uddhav ji asked anyone to distribute it. All we can say is that this is not our work.”
