The Bombay High Court on Monday extended protection from arrest of activist Gautam Navlakha till February 18, 2019 in the Bhima Koregaon case.

A division Bench of Justices B.P. Dharmadhikari and Revati Mohite-dere was hearing a plea filed by Mr. Navlakha urging the court to quash the FIR registered against him by Pune police.

Advocate Yug Chaudhary appearing for Mr. Navlakha told the court that the special leave petition filed by the Maharashtra government in the case will be heard on February 8, 2019.

The court thereafter said, "in this situation we are not in a position to take any view" and adjourned the hearing to February 18.
