Three people were injured when a tree fell on them in Chembur on Thursday. The three injured included two children.

The incident occurred around 12 p.m. at Pestom Sagar when a roadside tree fell on three people identified as Mahesh Patharkar (7), Vikas Paditalat (10), and Shivaji Londhe (50).

Assistant Municipal Commissioner of M West ward Prithviraj Chavan said,“Vikas suffered an injury to the jaw while Mahesh was injured in the leg. The tree collapsed as there was no root growth below ground level since there is drain water flowing down there.”

Pre-monsoon trimming of the tree was done in May.
