Three men were arrested on the charge of engaging in sex trade at a resort near Kakkadampyil in Kozhikode on Friday. The accused, Palathingal Mansoor, 27, T.K. Mohammed Basheer, 49, and P.P. Nisar, 37, all hailing from Malappuram, were arrested by the Thiruvambady police following a tip-off regarding their camping at the resort with a minor girl from Karnataka.

The police said the minor girl was brought to Kerala one month ago by the three who are suspected to be part of an inter-State sex racket. Basheer, the owner of the resort, allegedly facilitated the secret business. The girl was reportedly brought to the resort at Kakkadampoyil from Wayanad district on February 12. The details of those who sexually abused her would be collected soon, the police said.

The girl told the police that she was sent along with the gang by her relative. She was later presented before the Child Welfare Committee and sent to a rescue home.
