A Plus One student from M.M. Higher Secondary School drowned in the Kuttichira pond on Sunday. Police identified the deceased as Shahul Hameed, 17, son of Moideen Koya.
The incident took place around 12 noon when the boy was swimming. It was one of his friends who informed the Fire and Rescue Services for help. The rescue squad rushed him to the Government General Hospital, but failed to save his life.
