Interface Startup Summit, a platform to showcase start-up enterprises, will be held along with ‘Tathva’, the three-day annual tech festival of National Institute of Technology, Calicut, from October 13.

“The programme will focus on the achievements of the Malabar region in the IT industry,” Ashique Hameed, one of the student members of the organising committee, said.

Participants can discuss their business ideas with experienced entrepreneurs such as Varun Chandran, founder and chief executive officer, Corporate 360, and Afsal Salu, national head of Big Basket.”

The last date for submissions for the summit is October 10. Mr. Hameed said that The Maker Village Kochi is the title sponsor of the event backed by the Technology Business Incubator, NIT-Calicut.

A start-up expo and discussions have been organised and the aim is to discover innovative ideas and products in colleges and incubation cells. It could be an idea in the budding phase, one in prototyping phase, or even a finished product seeking funds. Those wishing to take part in the event could send in their ideas to interface@tathva.org . Shortlisted participants may attend the programme. There will be competitions in three categories.
