‘Shram 2022’ job fest in Kozhikode offers placement to 132 candidates

As many as 799 candidates shortlisted for final rounds

Spot placement was given to 132 candidates who staged outstanding performance at the ‘Shram 2022’ job fest organised by the Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence in association with the district administration and the District Skill Committee at Government Engineering College (GEC), West Hill, in Kozhikode district on Saturday. As many as 799 candidates were shortlisted for the final round of interviews by various companies.

Ports and Museums Minister Ahammad Devarkovil opened the fest, organised in compliance with the COVID-19 protocol. Assistant Collector Mukund Kumar chaired the inaugural ceremony. District Planning Officer T.R. Maya, GEC Principal K. Najeeb and councillor C. Sathyabhama were present.

The fest coordinators said the total number of candidates who turned up for the district-level selection drive was nearly 1,000. A total of 55 leading companies took part in the fest. Four of them conducted interviews using various online platforms.

There were about 1,500 applicants who completed the registration process online to attend the interview. The recruitment was conducted to fill about 2,500 reported vacancies in various fields such as tourism, customer relations, human resources, engineering, education, industries, sales and media.
