Over 100 ideas bloom at start-up mission conclave

The event is aimed at promoting entrepreneurial aspirations of youth

Over 100 ideas were presented on the opening day of the four-day conclave of the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) at the Indian Institute of Management - Kozhikode on Monday.

The participating teams presented their ideas about diverse sectors including retail, real estate, tourism, financial technology, robotics, social and rural innovation, agritech, energy, health and medical technology, bio-technology, transport, and cybersecurity. The event is aimed at promoting the entrepreneurial aspirations of the youth, and it brought together investors, venture capital providers, technical experts, and policy planners.

A seminar led by Sanjai Chaturvedi for start-ups was held in the afternoon session.

M. Sivasankar, Secretary, Electronics and IT, Government of Kerala, will inaugurate the Seeding Kerala event at UL CyberPark, Kozhikode, on Tuesday. This unique investor meet will enable youth to meet Angel Investors, venture capital fund sponsors, and high networth Individuals (HNI) to convert their concepts into reality. They will join the brainstorming sessions to take stock of the start-up scenario in the State and the strategies to be formulated to take their plans forward.

Google India CEO Rajan Anandan, who will address the gathering on Wednesday, will launch Mobile 10x Hub at the CyberPark.

Product start-ups, attending the event, will get an opportunity to showcase their products.

The top 30 start-ups selected after reviewing applications, will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their products.

On Thursday, KSUM will launch Future Spark in Kasaragod, a unique platform for students to ideate, innovate, build, and learn about future technologies.

KSUM is implementing the project across the State, and the initial target will be 10,000 school students.
