Nature study camp for students

The Social Forestry wing (Northern Region,) of the Department of Forests and Wildlife will conduct one-day nature study camps for students from recognised schools in the Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts starting from July this year.

The camps for different groups comprising 40 members from different schools in Kozhikode will be held in three venues, i.e Kakkavayal, Kadalundy, and Janakikkadu, while the venues for camps in other districts are yet to be finalised, said P.V. Gopalakrishnan, Assistant Publicity Officer of the Social Forestry Division. Each camp will comprise 40 students plus teachers in a selected venue.

Students can choose the venue from the given options based on their convenience.

Cost of travel

The educational institutions will have to bear the cost of travel while the expense for food and other needs of the camp will be provided by the organisers.

Members of the forestry clubs, eco clubs, nature clubs, health clubs, energy clubs, NCC, NSS, SPC, Scout and Guides, and Boomithrasena from government and aided schools will be given preference.

Application

Interested schools may apply in a stipulated form and sent it to the Assistant Forest Conservator, Social Forestry Extension Division, Vanasree, Mathottam, P.O. Arakkinar, Kozhikode- 673028 on of before June 30.
