May 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - Kozhikode:

‘Green View,’ a collective of farm-based environmental activists in the city, is all set to celebrate their third anniversary with a natural feast at Kuthiravattom Deshaposhini Library Hall here on May 12.

The programme titled ‘Pacha Kuda’ (green umbrella) will be attended by the heads of various local bodies, writers, and green activists.

Mayor A.K. Premajam, Deputy Mayor P.T. Abdul Latheef, and A. Pradeep Kumar, MLA, too will join the feast.

M.P. Rajul Kumar and Mullassery Chandrasekharan Nair, office-bearers of the collective, say the organisation is celebrating the third anniversary by cooking and serving a natural feast at a time when there is an awareness of the need for pesticide-free vegetables.

Farmers to speak

At the meeting, the farmers who have reaped success in organic farming marketing organic produce in urban areas will share their experience. People who have embraced organic food habit too will speak in the programme.
