MYL plans march against alleged recruitment fraud

Muslim Youth League (MYL) activists will take out marches to collectorates on Saturday seeking a probe into the charge that SFI activists with criminal background had secured top ranks in a Kerala Police recruitment test.

Addressing the media here on Monday, MYL State secretary P.K. Firos and vice president P. Ismail said SFI leader R. Sivaranjith, a prime accused in the alleged stabbing of a student at University College in Thiruvananthapuram, had secured the first rank in the recruitment test conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission for the Kerala Armed Police. It is baffling how a student was allotted the Thiruvananthapuram centre for recruitment to the Kasaragod battalion.

He also demanded an inquiry into how Sivaranjith obtained admission through sports quota at University College. An office seal of the Physical Education Director was recovered from his house during a raid.

Similarly, Mr. Firos said P.P. Pranav, who is an SFI activist at University College, secured the second rank in the police recruitment test. A.N. Naseem got the 28th rank, he said.

He also alleged that SFI activists were given admission in several colleges through sports quota. An inquiry should also be conducted into this allegation, Mr. Firos said.
