Maths workshop held

The importance of introducing innovative methods for teaching mathematics was highlighted during a four-day mathematics workshop organised by the Association of Mathematics Teachers of India (AMTI) at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, Perumthiruthi, here recently. Various topics including concept clarification in mathematics learning, use of inventive strategies to introduce concepts, visualisation techniques in mathematics teaching, and mental maths were discussed during the programme. As many as 35 select teachers from a dozen schools in and around the district participated in the workshop, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. —Staff Reporter
