Koyilandy gets a fillip worth Rs. 10 crore

Welfare projects worth Rs. 10 crore, with special emphasis to its coastal area, will be implemented in Koyilandy municipality during the 2013-14 financial year, the constituency’s MLA, K. Dasan said on Tuesday here.

The major works listed by Mr. Dasan includes the construction of a musical foundation for the Iringal Crafts Village, a tourist destination, for Rs. 1.65 crore; Rs. 2 crore to Koyilandy Government Mappilah Higher Secondary School and Government Girls Higher Secondary School. In the health sector, the developmental works include allotment of Rs. 25 lakh each to the Moodadi Ayurveda dispensary and Puliyanchery primary healthcare centre.

In a statement issued here, Mr. Dasan said in the coastal region Rs. 41.52 lakh would be spent to improve the Payyoli-Kolavipalam Fisheries Road, Arangadath-Ezhukudikkal Beach Road has been earmarked Rs. 30 lakh and Poyilkavu Beach Road would get Rs. 26.35 lakh.
