The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has offered to construct houses for landslip victims at Karinchola in Kattippara grama panchayat.

IUML leader and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly M.K. Muneer told the media on Monday that apart from announcing a meagre compensation package, the government did not bother about addressing residents’ concerns. The Chief Minister did not even visit the area, and rehabilitation activities are moving at a slow pace. Many families are still staying in temporary camps, Mr. Muneer claimed.

The IUML will purchase land and construct houses in the panchayat. Medical treatment will be offered to the injured, while students will be given financial assistance. A year-long pension will be given to families that had lost their members. Assistance will be provided to people whose houses were damaged and those who suffered crop loss, he added.
