Huge turnout for Perinthalmanna marathon

Event aimed at promoting physical exercise among people

Large number of people turned out for a marathon organised by Souls of Perinthalmanna Club in association with the municipality and the Janamaitri Police at Perinthalmanna on Sunday.

4,000 participants

The event titled ‘Run Perinthalmanna Run’ was organised with the objective of promoting physical exercise among people.

More than 4,000 people participated the marathon. Prizes were distributed to winners in different categories.

In the 21-km veterans category of the competition, Prabhakaran K. won the prize.

Open category

In the 21-km open category, Nabeel Sani from Kozhikode won the prize.

In the women’s category, Asha T.P. won the prize. Sabu Paul won the prize in the 10-km veterans category of the marathon.

In the 10-km open category, Aswin M.P. won the prize. In the women’s category, Anju Rose won the prize.

In the 10-km dwarf’s category of the event, Nitin won the first prize. In the super-veteran category, Narayanan M. Gouder and Rajam Gopi won prizes.

District Police Chief Abdul Kareem, Municipal chairman Mohammed Saleem, and Additional District Magistrate Meharali flagged off the marathon.
