Flood victims ignored: UDF

The UDF Kozhikode district committee has accused the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front government of turning a blind eye to the issues connected with the rehabilitation of the flood-affected.

A meeting of the United Democratic Front (UDF) leaders here on Tuesday alleged that the government had been showing a lackadaisical attitude towards the problems of the victims at Karinchola hill in Kattippara grama panchayat.

Fourteen persons had been killed in the rain-triggered landslip in this region. It was unfortunate that the government had not been paying the monthly rent of the houses they were temporarily staying in, the UDF leaders charged.
