The Calicut Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to expedite the land acquisition for the development of Calicut International Airport at Karipur on a warfooting within the tenure of the present UDF government.
In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister on October 1, the Chamber demanded that an IAS officer be appointed as special officer for the purpose. There is a need of 137 acres of land for the development of the international terminal. éCare should be taken not to discontinue the services of small aircrafts from the airport.
