The Excise Department will carry out a special drive against the illegal sale of liquor and substance abuse during the run-up to the three-tier local body polls.
Night patrolling will be intensified. A 24-hour control room and a striking force began functioning in the district.
The public can inform the department regarding transportation of spirit, liquor from the Union Territory of Mahe, illegal sale of IMFL and brewing and selling of arrack.
The identity of the informants will be kept confidential and they would also be rewarded, the Deputy Excise Commissioner said here on Tuesday.
