Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Tribes and Youth Affairs P.K. Jayalakshmi inaugurated a State-level symposium of ethnic healers and also an ethnic healing camp organised by the Kerala Institute for Research, Training and Development Studies of Scheduled Castes and Tribes (KIRTADS), in association with the District Information Office, on the KIRTADS campus here on Tuesday.
The annual grant for 100 ethnic healers, three tribal art groups, and four artisans were distributed on the occasion.
The Minister also gave away a cash award to Vinod C., the first student from the Chola Naikkar tribal population in the State, to pass Plus Two.
