: Chief Whip of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha Arjun Ram Meghwal, MP from Bikaner in Rajasthan, said here on Thursday that the party wanted to get public opinion on whether the people were in favour of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Amendment bill. Talking to reporters during his visit to the State to campaign for the bill, Mr.Meghwal said the GST bill would bolster the tax system, strengthen the States financially and would make business easier.

The Chief Whip criticised the Left and Congress MPs who disrupted the monsoon session of Parliament and pointed out that many important bills could not be passed due to bedlam. “State issues cannot be discussed in Parliament for long. The BJP had disrupted Parliament session earlier during the 2G scam issue. It was too serious compared to the present issue concerning the Rajasthan Chief Minister,” Mr. Meghwal said.
