Ban on exit polls

The ban on exit polls enforced under Section 126(A) of the Representation of People Act, 1951, will be applicable for the three-tier local body polls in the State.

The State Election Commission has banned the publication and dissemination of exit polls of any kind favouring or disfavouring any political party or any candidate. The visual media has been asked to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Cable Network (Regulation) Act.

A district-level Media Relation Committee will be constituted with the District Returning Officer as chairman and District Information Officer as convener to monitor and look into complaints .
