Trinamool Congress general secretary Mukul Roy’s son and MLA Subranshu Roy disapproval of internal feud of the Trinamool Congress has come as an embarrassment to the ruling party.

Video footage of Mr. Roy addressing a workers meet at Ranagath in Nadia district on Thursday was aired by local channels on Friday.

“It’s the common man who deserves the respect first. Have the people accepted the internal feud that is going on these days? This is not acceptable and we the leaders are fostering it,” Mr. Roy is seen saying to the party workers.

The Trinamool Congress has so far denied reports of faction feud within the party even though the Opposition has repeatedly raised the issue. In the video footage the Trinamool Leader has said that “such things are happening because of the faults of the leaders”. “Who will run the cattle business or the coal business or who will look after betting, is what leading to murders…,” Mr Roy said.

In his address the MLA emphasised that there is divide in what Didi ( party chairperson Mamata Banerjee) is preaching and what the leaders are practising. “After the elections who go on to become MLAs, MPs, chairman they forget about the workers who slogged day and night enabling them to win the polls. The common man because of whom today I am a MLA or Mamata Banerjee is the Chief Minister, do they support this?” Mr Roy asked.
