Suspended All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) MP Kunal Ghosh has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that a particular political party is trying to influence the ongoing investigation into the Saradha scam.

Speaking to The Hindu over phone from New Delhi on Saturday, president of the West Bengal Unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rahul Sinha admitted that Mr. Ghosh has written to the Prime Minister.

“I have a copy of the letter written by Mr. Ghosh. In the letter he has said that a particular political party is trying to influence the investigation into the Saradha Scam,” Mr. Sinha said.

In the letter, Mr. Ghosh has said he wants that investigation should be free and fair and alleged that attempts are being made to destroy evidences, he added.

The AITC MP, who headed the media wing of Saradha Group, has also said that he is innocent and was only a salaried employee of Saradha Group. Mr. Ghosh was suspended for anti-party activities in September 2013 and was subsequently arrested in November 2013. He has been behind bars since then.
