Eastern Railway to run special trains

In order to cater to the increased rush of passengers during the summer vacations, The Eastern Railway will be running two special trains between the city’s Sealdah station and Puri in Odisha, it said in a press release.

According to the release, the 031012 up Sealdah-Puri Special will leave Sealdah at 3.40 p.m. on June 27 and July 5 and will arrive at Puri at 1.30 am. the next day. The 03102 down Puri-Sealdah Special will leave Puri at 12.30 a.m. on June 29 and July 7 and will reach Sealdah at 11.15 a.m. on the same day.

Both the up and down trains would be halting at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jaipur-Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar and Khurda Road stations enroute in both directions.

The Eastern Railway will also run a superfast special train from Howrah to Guwahati and back to Sealdah, the release stated.

The 03057 up Howrah-Guwahati superfast special train will leave Howrah at 12.30 a.m. on June 24 and will reach Guwahati at 4.50 p.m. on the next day. The trains would be halting at Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri, New Cooch Behar and New Bongaigaon during both up and down directions.

Apart from the sleeper class, both the special trains will be having AC two and three tiered compartments. Bookings for the up direction trains will start from Wednesday.

Train cancelled

The 03059 up and 03060 down Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Premium Special Train would remain cancelled from both the stations on June 21 and June 28 due to poor patronage, the release stated.
