Child dies of swine flu in Kolkata

With this, three people have so far died in West Bengal due to the virus.

An eight-year old boy died of swine flu in Kolkata, taking the number of deaths due to the virus in West Bengal to three.

 

“The child was on ventilator support at B C Roy hospital and died late on Thursday night,” State’s Health Secretary Moloy De said in Kolkata on Friday

 

Earlier two adults had died in the city.  So far, 42 cases of swine flu have been detected from across West Bengal.

 

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said on Thursday that the State is fully prepared to tackle the situation arising out of the spread of swine flu virus. She said the State Government has arranged for isolation beds and adequate medicines for the patients.
