Continuing with its tirade against the All India Trinamool Congress ( AITC) government in West Bengal, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Siddhartha Nath Singh said here on Thursday that intelligence inputs were given to the State police to track three persons associated with the Bardhaman blast, which it completely ignored.

“Please clarify whether your government, on September 24, was informed about the three main Bardhaman Blast accused of Jamait-ul-Mujahidein Bangladesh (JMB) — Sohail Mehfooz, Mohammed Bilal and Mohammed Habibur Rehman,” Mr Singh directed the question at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The “accidental” blast at Khagragarh in Burdwan town occurred on October 2 where the two accused died. Four persons including two women have been arrested in connection with the blast.

While Mr Singh asked 10 questions to the State government relating to the blast, he also responded to the accusations made by Mr Banerjee on a social networking site.

“The Trinamool Congress does not practise what it preaches. At least Bardhaman blast proves that,” the BJP leader said, referring to Ms Banerjee comments on Facebook where she had referred to love of motherland should be above party politics.

Silence is golden On a social networking site, Ms Banerjee had also endorsed her silence on the “accidental” blast describing “silence as golden”.

“Silence can also be an acceptance of guilt,” Mr Singh said.

“Is it not true that your government and leadership had allowed JMB operatives to send in large numbers of Bangladeshi infiltrators for managing your vote bank politics?” the BJP leader asked Mamata Banerjee.

Accusing the State government of conspiracy to destroy blast-related evidence, Mr Singh said initially the State police did not provide assistance to the central investigation agencies.
