A 21-year-old died after earth caved in while constructing a septic tank for a house in Neelankarai on Saturday. Police said Ramanathan of Kapaleeswarar Nagar in Neelankarai was constructing a septic tank in his house. Arivazhagan of Kallakurichi, his mother, and a few others were involved in the work. Arivazhagan had dug the pit for nearly 10 ft. He got down to adjust the concrete rings when the earth caved in. The concrete rings fell on him and he was buried beneath the debris. The police have registered a case.
