Woman robbed at Chintadripet station

She was waiting to board MRTS train

A woman passenger was robbed of her jewellery and valuables by an unidentified person while she was waiting at the Chintadripet Railway Station to board an MRTS train late on Monday.

Police said Malar, 27, is working as an accountant at a private firm in Vepery and was waiting at the station to reach her house in Thiruvanmiyur at 10.30 p.m. A middle-aged man approached and threatened Malar. At knifepoint, he robbed her jewellery weighing almost two-and-a-half sovereigns, cash and mobile phone.

After she reached the Thiruvanmiyur station, she immediately called her husband Kalyan and they filed a complaint with the Government Railway Police, Thiruvanmiyur. Her complaint is under investigation.
