Residents of Tiruvanchery are coping with a nauseating issue — in the absence of proper drainage channels, sewage from households and commercial establishments stagnate on vacant lands.

“With no relief in sight, we are forced to get accustomed to the unbearable stench and mosquito menace,” says S. Rangamani Ammal, a resident.

Repeated representations to local authorities seeking construction of sewerage channels have gone in vain.

Residents want the district administration to direct the local body to improve sanitary conditions in the area.
