From a small, carefully crafted showpiece that could adorn your living room to a giant modular kitchen unit ‘ The Hindu Metro Plus Lifestyle Show' has all that one might look for to give his or her home a new look.

The nearly-250 stalls, put up at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, have enough for both, the brand-conscious and those shoppers who like to experiment.

Actor Radikaa Sarathkumar, who inaugurated the five-day show on Thursday, said she always gave priority to convenience and quality. “I am not very rigid about brands.

As long as a product is of good quality and is to my liking, I go for it,” she said.

On new initiatives of her company Radaan Mediaworks, Ms. Sarathkumar said there were some plans and an announcement could be expected soon. “At the moment, I am concentrating on the star cricket match that is coming up. Cinema and cricket are two major sources of entertainment in our country and so we thought combining the two would be interesting. To our surprise, some of the actors are very good cricketers,” she added.

Observing that ‘ The Hindu Metro Plus Lifestyle Show' brought in a host of products under one roof, she said it would give shoppers a chance to compare products and make an informed choice.

The variety and range of products at the show is bound to draw customers with varied tastes.

The latest in furniture, be it in metal, wood or plastic, is available. Pretty couches, elegant sofa sets, cots, dining tables and side tables in different price ranges would provide customers many options.

The electronic goods and appliances for sale cut across brands and models. Whether it is about a fancy, flat screen television or a double door refrigerator, or a camera with interesting features, customers will find several products irresistible.

Smaller items such as trays, holders, crockery, artefacts, clocks and wall hangings take care of the finer details of a home. The show, being presented by Samsung, is on till Monday, from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Entry fee per person is Rs.50 and all visitors would get a free gift.

Co-sponsors for the event are Maruti Suzuki, Canon, Voltas, India Yamaha Motors, Ebony Gautier, Propshelter, and Kurl On.

Q Bites, the Food Court at the venue has outlets of Akshaya Bhavan, Dhabba Khanna, Shangai Express, Hyderabadi Biriyani, Marry Brown, Dominos Pizza, Café Coffee Day, Wraps & Rolls and Heritage/Tropical Ice.
