The Hindu on Sunday bagged the Behindwoods Gold Medal for Best English Print for films promotion 2014 award at a glittering event in the city. The award was presented by Nirmala Sreedharan of Behindwoods to M.S. Narsimhan, Senior General Manager (Advertisement), The Hindu .

Actor Kamal Haasan, who received the K. Balachander Award for Excellence in India cinema from veteran director A.C. Thrilokchander, said he took great pride in being a student of the great KB. “Not a single day passes without me thinking of KB sir and Nagesh sir,” he said.

Manoj NS, managing director, Behindwoods.com, said this was the second year the awards were presented to those who had excelled in the film industry. A total of 82 categories of awards were presented to various film personalities.

The teaser of Zero with actor K. Ashwin in the lead was also released on the occasion. Vocalist and playback singer P. Unnikrishnan presented the best vocalist gold medals to Vaikkom Vijayalakshmi and also to his daughter Uthara.
