Student found dead on IIT campus

A 25-year-old Ph.D. student at the Indian Institute of Technology–Madras reportedly committed suicide inside her room on the campus on Monday.

According to the police, Ranjana Kumari from Jamshedpur, was doing her second year Ph.D. in the institution. On Monday evening around 6.30 p.m., the hostel staff spotted her dead and alerted the police. “We are investigating the reason behind her taking the extreme step,” said an officer.
