Special employment camp on October 17

The State government will hold a special employment camp in Chennai on October 17 in which 300 leading companies will participate to recruit personnel for over 20,000 jobs.

According to an official release, the government has been organising special employment drives throughout the State on the orders of the Chief Minister.

In Chennai, the camp will be held on the Madras Port Trust grounds at Tondiarpet falling under R.K. Nagar constituency.

The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation and companies involved in training personnel for various trades will also participate to identify talent and equip them for specific jobs. There will be guidance sessions for those desiring to work abroad as well and tips on entrepreneurship.

Candidates can register throughwww.tnvelaivaippu.gov.in, the release said.

Meanwhile, the Labour Department will hold a recruitment drive for the post of drivers in Joint Commissioner office in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchi and Madurai. Applications are invited from eligible candidates having the qualification of Standard VIII pass and having not less than two years experience in driving light motor vehicle (LMV), a release from the department said.

The forms can be downloaded fromwww.labour.tn.gov.in. The last date to submit the filled-in forms is November 6.
