A 27-year-old woman working in a beauty parlour-cum-spa in Anna Nagar East was attacked and robbed by a gang of four persons on Sunday.

The complainant, Karthika of Saidapet, was about to leave the spa at 8.45 p.m. when two unidentified persons came in seeking a massage.

She informed them that the spa had closed for the day.

However, after a few minutes, the duo returned with two more persons and picked up a quarrel with her, insisting on a massage.

When she refused to budge, the four attacked her and tore her clothes.

Using a knife, they slashed her legs and arms, inflicting injuries.

They fled after pushing her into a room and snatching her four-sovereign gold chain.

Later, the owner of the parlour, Jai Suresh, reached the spot and informed the police.

Five persons including a Special Sub-Inspector’s son and a college student, were arrested. Further investigation is on.
