Pallavaram MLA P. Dhan Singh on Saturday inspected the main pumping station of the underground drainage network project of the Pallavaram Municipality.

Speaking to reporters at the facility, located on the fringes of the Keelkattalai lake, he said an elaborate study would be conducted and a detailed report published. He was responding to presspersons' queries about concerns voiced by a section of residents of Keelkattalai and Pallavaram that the location of the pumping station would result in severe problems once it became operational. Mr. Singh, who is a former ward councillor and Pallavaram Municipal Chairman, said a technical committee comprising engineers from the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and from the Public Works Department would make a detailed study at the site, following which remedial measures, if required, would be taken.
