Public examination schedule announced

‘Early declaration will aid preparations’

The Directorate of Government Examinations has released the public examination schedule for classes X, XI and XII for 2018.

Officials said the dates were announced well in advance to ensure that the students don’t get stressed out in the last minute and to help teachers prepare students for the examinations.

The break-up

For class XII, the exams will begin on March 1, 2018 and end on April 6. The results will be published on May 16.

For class XI, the exams will begin on March 7 and end on April 16. The results will be published on May 30.

The intermediary public exam for class X will begin on March 16 and end on April 20. The results will be published on May 23.

For students of class XII, the exams would commence at 10 a.m. and end at 1.15 p.m.

The students would get 10 minutes to read the question paper and five minutes to verify the particulars that they have filled in.

The duration of each examination will be three hours.

For classes X and XI, the exam duration will be two hours and 45 minutes.

They would also get 10 minutes to read the question paper, five minutes to verify their filled-in particulars and two hours and 30 minutes to write the examination.
