Sathya Murthy, the father of music director Devi Sri Prasad, died of a cardiac arrest at his Chennai residence. Sathya Murthy is remembered for the dialogues he penned for the hit film Khaidi No. 786. He is survived by his wife, two sons, including singer Sagar, and a daughter.

His career

Sathya Murthy started his career with Devatha starring Sobhan Babu, Sreedevi and Jayaprada in the lead, produced by the late D. Rama Naidu, and also wrote the story for Pedarayudu starring Mohan Babu.

Sathya Murthy directed Dadar Express, starring Naga Babu, brother of Mr. Chiranjeevi, Bavagaru with Sobhan Babu in the lead, and Chaitanyam .
