DMK MLA P.K. Sekar Babu stopped a man from jumping from a mobile phone tower on Thursday, after giving him a patient hearing.

The MLA was passing Rajaji Salai when he saw that a large crowd had gathered near a mobile tower. He got down from his vehicle and learnt that a man had climbed the tower and was threatening to jump.

Mr. Babu used his persuasive skills to try and make him come down. The man, identified as Maran, said he had no house and the residents of Sathiya Nagar had refused to let him live there. The MLA requested him to come down and promised that he would arrange accomodation. Convinced, the man came down.
