Man electrocutednear Kodungaiyur

A 31-year-old man was electrocuted after he came in contact with the digital signboard of a commercial establishment near Kodungaiyur on Thursday evening.

According to the police, Jayaraj, 31, a driver for a cash logistics firm, was walking to a fast food joint in Meenambal Nagar on Thursday evening.

After purchasing food, on his way back he stepped onto the pavement as the road was water-logged.

“He lost his balance and touched a digital board of a commercial establishment. Since it had active power supply, he was electrocuted,” a policeman attached to the Kodungaiyur police station said.

A case has been registered and further investigation is on.

ATM damaged

The police are on the hunt for two men who attempted to break open an ATM in Minjur on Thursday evening.

According to the police, two masked men entered the ATM of a private bank in Valluvar Nagar in Minjur on Thursday around 8.30 p.m, and attempted to break it open.

They reportedly cut the CCTV wires.

Passersby noticed this and informed the police. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
