FOBs rusting away?

Many pedestrians have complained to TNRDC about the condition of these facilities

There are many foot overbridges between Tidel Park and Sholinganallur junction on Rajiv Gandhi Salai; but none of them has been put to optimal use.

The floor on many of these FOBs, especially the ones at Kottivakkam, Perungudi and Thoraipakkam, are rust-ridden. Some of them have minor dents too.

On Kottivakkam FOB, there are minor cracks resulting from rusting.

At Tidel Park, the metal walkway was replaced with a cemented surface a few months ago. But the work seems to be slipshod one, as cracks have already developed at many portions.

According to a TNRDC official, repair and renovation of FOBs will be taken up at a cost of ₹14 lakh and tenders will be floated soon.
