K. Anantha Padmanabhan, former director of the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur, is the syndicate nominee of Anna University's Vice Chancellor search committee.

Mr. K.A. Padmanabhan is listed as former Professor of Eminence in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Adviser, Centre for Technology Development and Transfer, College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University. He is also adviser to TCS and Aditya Birla S&T Company, according to IIT-Kanpur’s website.

The third member of the search panel would be nominated by the Government.
