Dead jawan’s family to get Rs. 10 lakh

The body of Lance Naik operator V. Anthony Nirmal Viji from Mugaiyur village of Villupuram district arrived at Air Force Station, Tambaram, on Saturday.

The soldier attained martyrdom in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

Brigadier Kuldeep Singh, station commander, Chennai, along with other officers, received the mortal remains at the Air Force Station, before it was sent to Villupuram, where a State funeral was accorded to the soldier.

Solatium announced

The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday announced a solatium of Rs. 10 lakh to the family of the dead jawan.

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa expressed her condolences to the bereaved family, while making the announcement.
