CUTN students continue their dharna

A section of students from the Department of English continued their sit-in dharna at the Central University of Tamil Nadu on Saturday.

They have been demanding that two faculty members, suspended by the varsity administration, be reinstated.

The CUTN administration had sacked two women faculty members, who also served as wardens of girls’ hostel.

They had reportedly shown undue favour to two girls who returned to the hostel late at night. They had also failed to give convincing replies when the issue was raised by the administration.

However, on Friday, a section of students from the English Department resorted to a sit-in dharna in the campus, urging the administration to reinstate the assistant professors without any conditions.
