The Madras High Court on Monday directed Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TNFPC) to submit by Wednesday the income as well as expenditure statements related to a two-day music concert to be conducted by Ilaiyaraaja on February 2 and 3. The court wanted to know details of the contract entered between the council and the music director for the event.

Justice K. Kalayanasundaram called for details pursuant to a civil suit filed by two individual producers accusing the office-bearers of TNFPC of having taken a unilateral decision to conduct the concert in the guise of generating revenue for the council. The plaintiffs alleged that there was no need to organise the event by spending huge amount of money.
