City police nabburglar in Rajasthan

A special team of the police arrested K. Mugeshkumar, 29, a burglar, in Rajasthan and recovered 1.5 kg of stolen gold jewellery from him on Thursday.

The accused was part of a six-member gang nabbed by Palavanthangal Police in Madhya Pradesh.

The special team, headed by Pulianthope Deputy Commissioner E. Sai Charan Tejaswi, which had gone with two accused Kailash and Ram Niwas, arrested Mugeshkumar in Lakshmipura.

In a press release, the City Police said during investigation, the six robbers revealed that they identified the locked houses during the day and burgled them at night. They targeted houses mainly in areas located in south Chennai, including Palavanthangal, Adambakkam, Selaiyur, Peerkankaranai and Tambaram. The gang was involved in thefts in Coimbatore district, the police said.
