Two chain-snatchers, both college students, were nabbed by the public and thrashed in Minjur on Friday.

Police said when Deivanai, 40, of Ramana Nagar, was walking, two bike-borne youngsters came behind her and snatched her five sovereign gold chain. But they fell from the bike immediately.

The locals nabbed them both, tied their hands and forced them to kneel down on the road. A video showed the culprits being beaten up. The police soon arrested the two, who were identified as Manikandan and Prasanth, and remanded in judicial custody.
