AVM studios clarifies

June 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - CHENNAI:

With reference to the article “Reel to Real: an estate’s tale” which was published in these columns on Wednesday, M.S. Guhan, Managing Partner, AVM Studios, writes: “We would like to clarify that it is only AVM Film Studios that is being developed and AVM Studios which is owned by my father M. Saravanan and myself remains very much in existence with five fully-fledged active shooting floors.

“You have quoted my father M. Saravanan as having submitted that the production costs are rising.

I have to point out that this is a misrepresentation which makes it look like AVM Studios has shut down. We wish to inform we are the oldest surviving studio in the country today,” Mr. Guhan said.
