Amit Shah’s visit uncertain

July 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - CHENNAI:

While speculations were rife that the BJP was trying to rope in popular personalities to join the party in the presence of national president Amit Shah in Madurai, it turns out that his very visit on July 15 is yet to be finalised.

A source in the Tamil Nadu BJP said “pressing issues in New Delhi”, including a consultation meeting on Land Acquisition Bill that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold, may push the visit of Mr. Shah to another date.

“Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu may instead attend the scheduled programmes in place of Mr. Shah,” said a senior leader. However, a final decision would be made on Monday.
