BJP President Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to Chennai on Monday has already boosted the morale of the cadre in Tamil Nadu and the party is getting ready to face the Parliamentary elections, BJP State President Tamilisai Soundararajan said on Sunday.

Ms. Tamilisai said Mr. Shah would hold a series of meetings from 12 p.m. on Monday with various members of the party.

He is expected to land in Chennai at 11 a.m., following which he will head to the VGP Golden Beach resort.

He will have his first set of meetings with an administrative committee of the party constituted for the Parliamentary elections between noon and 2 p.m.

After which, he would meet the party members in-charge of each Parliamentary constituency in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ms. Tamilisai said.

Exchange of ideas

“We have two people in charge of each parliamentary constituency. Mr. Shah will hold meetings with them,” she said.

Mr. Shah will complete his tour by meeting the party’s Sakthi Kendra and Maha Sakthi Kendra members. On the issue of holding simultaneous polls to Parliament and State Assemblies, she said the party would take into account the views of everyone concerned and only then take a decision.

“The BJP doesn’t force anything on anyone. Be it the GST or anything...there is an exchange of ideas now and once that’s over, a decision will be taken,” Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan added.
