Sridevi’s desire

Speaking about collaborating with Ajith, Mr. Kapoor said in a statement that it was his late wife Sridevi’s desire to produce a Tamil film with Ajith Kumar in the lead.

“While working with Ajith for English Vinglish , Sridevi had expressed her desire that Ajith be roped in for a Tamil film for our home production. Nothing exciting came up till one day last year when Ajith suggested remaking Pink in Tamil. She immediately agreed with him as she thought it was the most appropriate and timely film to make. Ajith would bring in all the elements required to make it into a great Tamil film,” Mr. Kapoor said.

Mr. Kapoor added that he had been wanting to collaborate with Ajith Kumar for a long time.

“We are now delighted to have zeroed in on the official remake of the film Pink . We are initiating the shooting process today and determined to make the film hit the screens on May 1, 2019. We are doing another film together that will be scheduled for a start in July 2019. It will be released on April 10, 2020. Both the films are supported by Zee,” he added.
